Marie-Catherine was born and raised in Paris.  Throughout her childhood, her mother would insist in taking her to the Louvre on her days off from school.  Even though she often resisted, these trips to the famed museum were not in vain.  They helped her sharpen and define her love for beauty.  Today, if you ask her what she does for a living, she’ll answer: “I look for beauty and I capture it.  I haven’t yet met a person I can’t take beautiful pictures of.  People often don’t realize it, but beauty is everywhere and in every person.  The art is to be able to see it and reveal it”.  And that, she does.

After being a professional photographer for less than a year, she was taken on by the Gamma Agency which was at the time the largest photo agency in the world.  During her interview, the president of Gamma told her: “You are uniquely gifted in capturing people’s true essence.”

Her early training started with fashion, then commercial photography, and then with celebrity portraiture.  But her fondness for the innocence and simplicity of children is what drew her to what she does today.  Her eclectic background gives her a unique versatility which is very transparent in her work.  Few portrait photographers have so much to offer.

Marie-Catherine loves to constantly innovate.  She originated a new type of panoramic montages (viewable under the “CREATIVITY” tab) which paint spectacular  frescoes of people and backgrounds. These montages require tremendous skills and creativity.

She is also the  creator of the N.O.W. (No One’s Watching) photo shoots (“ESCAPADES” tab) which are humoristic depictions of what happens in a family when “no one’s watching”, by contrast with the typical photo shoot where people present their best side because  “someone’s watching”.

She is currently working on a two different photography coffee table books, one featuring  her “ESCAPADES” images, the other depicting humoristic situations in the same spirit as her “N.O.W.” photographs.

While many of her clients could just pick up the phone and get photographed for free by leading magazines and their photographers, they choose her year after year.

Today, she lives in Malibu, California.  She photographs part of the year in the Los Angeles area, spends the summer months in Europe  where she offers a limited number of photo shoots in London, Paris, the south of France and Italy for both her European and American clients.  The rest of the year, she travels the world creating fine art photographic compositions.  These very special pieces will be available for purchase on this website as they become available.

For the last fifteen years, in an effort to give back, Marie-Catherine has participated in many charity and fundraising events.

Marie-Catherine est née à Paris où elle a été élevée.  Quand elle était encore a l’école primaire,  sa mère l’emmenait au Louvre dès qu’elle en avait l’occasion.   Marie-Catherine resistait souvent, mais les visites à ce musée  prestigieux ne furent pas en vain.  Elles lui permirent d’aiguiser et de définir son amour de la beauté.  Aujourd’hui, si vous lui demandez ce qu’elle fait comme métier, elle réponds: “Je recherche la beauté et je la capture.  Je n’ai pas encore rencontré de personne dont je ne puis pas prendre de belles photos.  Les gens ne le réalisent souvent pas, mais la beauté est partout et dans chaque personne.  L’art, c’est d’être capable de la voir et de la révéler”.  Et ça, elle le fait.

Moins d’un an après qu’elle devienne photographe professionnelle, elle a été prise par l’agence Gamma, qui à l’époque, était la plus grande agence photo du monde.  Pendant son interview, le president de Gamma lui dit: “Vous avez vraiment un don pour ce qui est de capturer l’essence de vos sujets”.

Elle a commencé la photo avec le “fashion, puis elle a fait de la photo commerciale et ensuite des portraits de gens célèbres.  Mais son adoration pour l’innocence et la simplicité des enfants l’a conduite à ce qu’elle fait aujourd’hui.  La variété de son experience professionelle photographique lui donne une versatilité unique qui est très visible dans son travail.  Peu de photographes de portrait ont autant à offrir.

Marie-Catherine adore innover constamment.  Elle a mis au point un nouveau type de montages panoramiques (voir sous l’onglet “CREATIVITY”) qui dépeint des fresques de personnes et fonds spectaculaires.  Ces montages demandent des compétences et une créativité extraordinaires.

Elle a aussi crée les séances photos N.O.W. (ce qui veut dire: personne ne regarde - voir sous l’onglet “ESCAPADES”) qui sont des renditions humoristiques de scènes familiales quand “personne ne regarde”.  Ces séances photos sont en contraste avec le shoot typique où les gens se présentent sous leur meilleur côté parceque quelqu’un les regarde.

Elle travaille en ce moment sur deux livres qui  représenteront des situations humoristiques dans le même esprit  que ses photos N.O.W.

Alors que la plupart de ses clients pourraient décrocher le téléphone et appeler les meilleurs magazines pour se faire photographier gratuitement, ils choisissent Marie-Catherine une année apès l’autre

Aujourd’hui, elle vit à Malibu, en Californie.  Elle travaille une partie de l’année à Los Angeles et passe les mois d’été en Europe où elle offre un nombre limité de séances photos à Londres, Paris, le sud de la France et l’Italie pour ses clients Européens et Américains  Le reste de l’année, elle voyage autour du monde prenant des photos pour ensuite créer des compositions artistiques.  Il sera possible d’acheter ces pièces uniques dès qu’elles deviendront disponibles.

Lors des dernières quinze années, Marie-Catherine a participé à de nombreuses oeuvres charitables.
